This songs lyrics are intentionally built for you to create your own narrative ideas. A broken friendship intermixes with car-wreckage, pizza, and a VooDoo Doll that seems both central and abstract.
The midsection of this song features an excerpt from the Egyptian Book of the Dead. This recording was taken at our HEAVY PETTING ZOO performance at the Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival. The excerpt features the line, “make me strong against the slayer of my father.” We were to find out after we finished this performance that my dad had been killed earlier in the day by a distracted driver. We are currently still seeking justice for his death.
This song also loves Windows, and features lyrics from Bill Edwards, E. Sontheimer, and Seb. Sontheimer.
ENTRANCE
Written during quarantine, this song explores the feelings of captivity within interior-architecture.
Going in for a job interview//career opportunity at Communo-Space-Foods, you find yourself hooked into one of their training devices. It sends visions through your spine to prepare you for employment.
You then are lead hallway to hallway, discovering that there is no way outside the walls. Are you an essential? Maybe not so needed. You find your senses glitching as if now automatic. You cognize that there are No Exits. But it is too late. You are trapping within the sheetrock walls, and being induced ever-deeper into the inner circles of an Insider Meeting.
